Stop Hate Visual Media Contest

January 20, 2014

Are you a creative artist? Passionate about raising awareness and speaking out about hate crimes? Then this is a contest for you! The John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights is working with the Alberta Hate Crimes Committee (Edmonton chapter) to launch a public media campaign in April. The media campaign requires art submissions that will be featured in the ad. We are looking for art that reflects how Edmontonians feel about hate and its impact on the community. The aim of this media campaign is to engage our communities and provoke thoughts and discussions around how to stop hate in conjunction with Hate Crimes Awareness Day on April 9th.

Art submissions are due on February 15, 2014 and can be emailed to info@jhcentre.org. The winning art submission will receive a $250 cash prize, a plaque, as well as a day tour with Edmonton Police officers. For further questions or concerns, please contact info@jhcentre.org.
