From Child Soldier to Peace Soldier: Emmanuel Jal Lecture

On Thursday, August 8th, the John Humphrey Centre is proud to host Emmanuel Jal:

Musician. Actor. Author. Advocate.

Born in the war-torn region of southern Sudan, Emmanuel was thrust into the life of a child soldier on an unknown date in the early 1980s. Through unbelievable struggles, he managed to survive and emerge as a recording artist, achieving world acclaim for his unique style of hip hop with its message of peace and reconciliation rooted from his personal experiences.
